The snaps were taken after Gunter Schachermayr, 37, fitted his Vespa with two underwater motors capable of being steered from the handlebars so that he could take it diving, writes thelocal.at.
And a video of the trip was also sent to London for inclusion in the Guinness Book of Records.
He was filmed as he drove the bike five metres deep underwater at the Klauser reservoir near Klaus an der Pyhrnbahn in the state of Upper Austria in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
Despite temperatures of around two degrees Celsius in the water, he said that the trip on the modified electric Vespa had been one of his favourite stunts yet, once he managed to find out where it was located in the limited visibility water.
In total he travelled 20 minutes on the bike before bursting out of the water onto the shore.
